First you need to consult an attorney to see if your record actually CAN be expunged. The legal language can mislead you into thinking "expunge" - meaning it completely goes away instead of what is more common - that your record is "set aside". Getting a record expunged COULD be worth what it's gonna cost you. Getting your record set aside doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. You can usually get an initial consultation at no cost any maybe the attorney can explain the differences and tell you what you are able to do.
There is also something called Expedited Criminal Database Update(ECDU), which is sometimes needed if you want your expungement to take the effect immediately(sometimes it takes up to a year for them to update your record).

Criminal records are forever unless you are somehow able to expunge the offense.
It is on your record forever, unless you get a court order to expunge the crime from your record.
In theory, any criminal conviction can be expunged. Actually doing it is something else again. Courts are generally reluctant to expunge any record unless there is a clear showing that the original conviction was unjust, or a long period of good conduct has passed with no further criminal actions recorded. The more serious the violation/conviction, the longer one has to show good conduct and the more reluctant a court will be to expunge a conviction. Domestic violence is a serious offense, and courts are very reluctant to expunge these for any reason.
A DUI gives you two records; one criminal and one on your driver's license. Your criminal record is permanent, it will stay there forever unless you have a judge remove it from your record (expunge it). It varies from state-to-state how long the record will stay on your driving history.
As long as it takes
It takes 2 hours
The amount of time for a persons record to be expunged for unlawful wounding will depend on the laws of the city/state in which they live. An attorney can ask a judge to expunge the record in a court filing.
