Elder abuse is a general description that encompasses any offenses that can be/could be, committed against elderly citizens (e.g.: assault - neglect - embezzlement - robbery by fear - etc - etc) each of which carry their own penalties which become 'enhanced' with additional penalites if/when they are committed against elders.
