However, the 16 year old will have to prove that he/she is capable of fully providing for him/herself financially and will therefore need to obtain a home or apartment, furnish it, and cover all other set up costs. There may also be a required visit and inspection to determine that the home is appropriate, and this person may be at the child's cost. Additionally, in most cases the child will need an attorney to help them navigate the process, which will also be at their cost.
