There is a disparity in sentencing of embezzlement cases. A review of Maine and Vermont alone shows the following examples. One woman that netted 190,000 got 9 months and one that took 25,000 got a suspended sentence. During the same time period a woman that took almost 300,000 got 18 months. Guess it depends on the DA and if it is promotion or raise time.

How much jail time could you grt for embezzlement? I was sentenced to 30 days in jail and then 45 weekends plus 10 years probation and ordered to pay back the entire $26,000. It was my first offense and I am a married women with 3 school-aged children. I have no idea if my sentence is typical or not. I hope this hepls you. I can tell you this....It isn't worth it!
