Added; Wrong - (in the US) if the offense is serious enough a juvenile can be bound over for trial as an adult for both their trial and their imprisonment, and even though they may be a minor their trial will be condicted in adult court, with a jury.

You would certainly want to do it as soon as you're capable of doing it. Any hesitation on your part will not only destroy or dilute evidence, but allow the perpetrator to become more difficult to find. ADDITIONALLY - if you take too long - law enformcement may begin to doubt your reasons for delaying the reporting of the event.

it all depends , as a matter of fact im am currently tryin to research and find out , i think if you are a minor and you dont have a criminal history then yhu might go on probation or you could get the good behavior bond wich basically says that you promise to be good for a certain period...it al depends on the state and what type of assault it was..helpful ?:/

Any individual whether they are a minor or adult can be charged with assault. The charge and any results that may come from it would depend upon the specific circumstances of the matter.
