IS there freedom of speech in the classroom?

Freedom of speech in the US classroom is limited by the need of teachers, as employees, to teach specified materials to a broad audience, without violating the separation of church and state (when doing so in publicly funded schools). Freedom of speech of students in the classroom is limited by the fact that most are minors and do not have the full liberties of adults, and by the requirements of maintaining an environment in which the specified course material can be taught (need for an orderly classroom etc.)

Yes. Freedom of expression can be limited in school. In fact, it must be. If the name of the course in physics, you must do physics. If the name of the class is Civil War, you must study The Civil War.

About the only place where freedom of expression is really allowed is a creative writing class, and even there it is regulated to proper English. It must be clear.
