I would think not unless it was something you were not supposed to have or buy. Then they should give you the money from the sale if it was yours.
They can buy it but it's a crime for any adult to give it to you
you can buy it from the store or trade something of yours with someone who has an iPod
Just ask
You can ask. You can point out the advantages. But ultimately, it's their decision, not yours, whether to buy a new car or not.

if you're going to VA and you want to get something, the choice is really yours to make. if you're looking for something memorable, get something that will bring memories (a teddy bear of an amusement park). or you can buy something in Jamestown(they have a lot of old antique things there). or maybe you want to buy one of those little Ships In A Bottle. hope this helps.
earn it
Do chores and help out around the house
You ask them if they'll let you buy it from them. Or if they want to trade something of yours for their skateboard.
You can make something for your father for his birthday. Sometimes parents like this better because anyone can buy a gift, it takes a lot of love to make one.
make tings at home or go to the dollar store buy some candy or something and sell it at school or at your parents work
