There is no statute of limitations. I am in the same situation and if it were a misdemeanor it would be different but a felony no there is none that will haunt us till we serve our time and your probation officer can and will make it harder on you the longer it goes. You have got to serve the time for the crime at some point.

ADDED: Probation, while a lenient sentence, is a SENTENCE nonetheless for being found guilty of an offense. If you abscond from porbation it is just about the same thing as if you escaped from jail - you have still NOT served your time.

ALSO - All US states and territories honor each other's requests for extradition - there are no 'safe-haven' states - It is impossible to know with certainty whether a particular state will choose to extradite you for a particular offense, or not, there are simply too many variables. It may depend, in part, on the offense and the seriousness of it, and/or how badly they want you returned - most states WILL extradite for felony offenses.
