You had a FELONY crime DISMISSED? (!!!!) Are you sure that the judge didn't say that you had 'DISCHARGED' your probation? I'd check into this carefully, just to determine what a prospective employer might turn up. Go to your local law enforcement agency and request a copy of your own criminal record to find out what anyone else would see if they looked you up. Even if you understood the judge's ruling correctly, there's a good chance that the record of your arrest, and the charge, is probably still there.
It means your case is dismissed. Your case will still show up on your background report. I got my felony case expunged, but it still shows on my background as dismissed.
if the case was dismissed you were not convicted. you can truthfully answer no.
It depends entirely as to whether you are on misdemeanor probation or felony probation.
Probation is a sentence, not a crime. A felony is a level of crime.
If you were arrested for a felony crime - and the charge was dismissed before ever reaching the trial stage - you are NOT considered to be a felon. And although your record may reflect an arrest for the offense, it will also show that the charge was dismissed.
It sounds to me like you were convicted and that probation is your sentence. If you fail probation, what would happen? Yes, you need to put it on your application if it is still on your record.
The difference between felony and misdemeanor probation is the felony is when a person is sentence to a jail term, but it can be served out of jail. The misdemeanor probation is not given jail time. They serve a probation period.
This depends on what you are on probation for. If you have been convicted of a felony for which you are on probation, the Housing Authority may remove you from the program, depending on what the felony is.
If the offense you were found guilty of when you received your probation sentence was a felony, then your violation will be a felony warrant.
Did you get it straightened out? You still have to put the felony down on the application in order to have any possibility of being hired and keeping the job.
Your felony probation will be immediately revoked and you will be remanded back to prison. In the meantime you will be tried for the felony you committed while on probation and then face sentencing and prison time for that offense also.
No, it is still a felony. People must go to jail to pay for it this guy/ girl is an idiot. i was conficted of a felony domestic violence charge and it was later dismissed and dropped. i went through a year and a half of probation (suppossed to be three years, but i got off early due to "good behavior". its not hard, it just takes time.
