If the reason they hadn't paid their account has to do with some reason and they have contested their bill, like in any business situation, the Co may negotiate a settlement. It has nothing to do with the BK. Yes, people/Cos the BK OWES, of the same type, must be treated similarly..so you and other non secured creditors may RECEIVE the same percent.
