You can still proceed with a divorce in California. California does not require your spouse to sign divorce papers. As long as your spouse is properly served you can proceed with the divorce.

In Ohio, both parties do not necessarily have to sign the divorce papers for a divorce to be granted. However, if both parties agree on the terms, such as custody and division of assets, it may be easier and faster to finalize the divorce with both signatures.
