FEDERAL law (Peaceable Journey Act) takes precedent over state law. An UNLOADED firearm, LOCKED in the trunk may be transported THROUGH any US state, so long as possession of that firearm is legal at the origin and at the destination, and the firearm STAYS in the trunk until arriving at the destination. See link at the bottom of this page to the Federal law on transport.
The laws will vary between each State, so check with your State government officials. I asked the same question the other night. The answer was to carry the gun and ammo in the trunk of the car and not loaded.
yes it is illegal to own a sawed off shot gun in pennsylvania...as far as i know its illegal in every state of the US
Your question does not say what state or country you live in, but in almost every state in the USA it is illegal to fire any weapon or hunt from any vehicle while you are inside the vehicle.
Yes, not knowing is not a legal defense. The law will treat you as an accessory. Here is an example; Let's say your friend goes into a store and robs it. You are sitting in the car and have no idea what this person is doing. He uses a gun which makes it a armed robbery. After he gets into the car he tells you what he has done. Unless you get out of the car and call the police you are an accessory to the crime that was committed. You will get jail time as well for just being there. Not knowing that there was a gun in the car is about the same thing. It is illegal to drive in CA with a gun that is not in a locked gun case, unloaded, and in the trunk of the car. The person would need a concealed weapons license for it to be legal.
As long as you do not have it loaded and have it in your trunk in a container, you can transport it anywhere.
yes
Yes, it would be illegal to attempt to purchase a gun with a silencer online if it is prohibited in your state. It is important to follow your state's laws regarding firearm purchases to avoid legal consequences.
Depends on the state you live in.
That's a very vague and general question. A gun is "illegal" if it is stolen, if it is in the possession of a person not legally allowed to possess a gun, or if it violates a local state law.
They aren't illegal in Tennessee, and as far as I know, they are not illegal in any other U.S. state.
Yes. Absolutely. You can't carry a tattoo gun in your car in Arkansas without a valid concealed weapons permit. Tattoo machines, on the other hand, can be legally carried in your vehicle.
Check with the laws in your state.
