Yes, it is illegal to text and drive in North Carolina.
no
They've have finally passed the law making it illegal to be texting and driving in Illinois.
It's not illegal to text them but if the text has anything to do regarding sex or threats etc it is illegal.
I just spoke to a police officer and he said that it is not illegal to text or talk on a cell phone while driving YET. They are trying to pass it as a law. A law was recently past that it is illegal to drive and text under the age of 21yrs. in the state of MO. Now you can and probably will be found guilty if you are on the phone talking and are involved in an accident.
Not only illegal, but dangerous and stupid as well. +++ As comparison, in the UK it is illegal to use a portable (cell) phone anyway while driving, though I'm not sure of the legal position of "hands-free" equipment. Mine is a conventional cell 'phone - but it stays switched off!
Because it's distracted driving, much like driving under the influence. It slows response time and is dangerous.
no it isn't
No. they text and drive because of sheer stupidity.

No, it is not illegal, but it is extremely annoying.
No, it is no more illegal for a teacher to text a student than to email a student. It would be inappropriate for such to happen without the prior knowledge of the parents of the student, but not illegal.
Harrassment by phone is illegal, so yes, it is illegal.
