Is it illegal for a 16 year old girl to go out with a 14 year old boy?

i dont think there is anything wrong with it just know she is younger than you and you need to move slower with her and make sure not to take her to any high school parties because that could result in a very mad dad. but what if the dad already doesnt want us to date? like he met me once and he thinks im worse than the devil. how would i make a good impression?

Depends on where you are, but as a general rule of thumb age of consent is 17 or 18 - meaning that people 18 and over can't date people 17 and under. The age of consent varies from place to place, but 14-16 should be okay (until you turn 18, however).

I dont believe so . . . . I think age 18 is the age at which you cannot go for the younger girls (below 18) unless you have permission from the girls/guys parents. The age of sexual consent varies from state to state. And the two year difference can make a difference. But 14 is too young! And the parents cannot give permission to break the law.

For a 16 year old to date a 14 year old is not illegal. However, if there is any sexual congress between them, that IS illegal.

There are no laws for dating only for sex where both have to be age of consent. Just make sure the minors parents are OK with you two going out.
