It could get into a problem if something happens to you and you can't or don't pay the bill for whatever reason. It could be considered fraud and you could go to jail. On the other hand, if you get a card in your own name, the worst that would happen is bankruptcy, default, or being tracked by the government. Better safe than sorry.
