That would depend on the laws in your state,there are many states that allow the property owner to shoot a domestic cat/dog if the animal poses a significant threat to the occupants,or if the cat/dog is terrorizing,chasing,or harming livestock or other domestic animals(including your pets),or if the cat/dog is causing property damage.. Some states even permit hunting of feral cats. But, if you just go off on a whim, and shoot your neighbour's cat, you can expect to find yourself in handcuffs and facing a judge shortly afterwards.
