Is it illegal to beat up your father?

Yes, assault and battery is a crime. and not only that it is also wrong from every perspective moral , religious any perspective you mention it IT IS WRONG . he is your father no matter what he did ( well maybe if he abandoned you than you should beat him up than not only cause he hurt you but also your mom) otherwise no man its not cool . my dad used to beat me up daily real talk with a belt , with a wire his fists u name it but guess what right or wrong i learned my lessons and in a weird way i thank him cause i know he would give his life for me

Depends on what part of the World you live in!

Generally speaking..violence of any kind should be forbidden and say if this incidence occured in the USA or UK,then certainly this would construe as ABH [Actual bodily harm] or common assault,and in any event you would be liable to be arrested by the Police and brought before the courts.[Syed Amir]
