Is it legal to drive with neon lights on the under body of a car in new jersey?

It is not illegal to drive with Neon lighting on any Vehicle however if the actual light source is visable to other road users then it will be, so keep the Bulbs and Strips hidden and you will be fine

I'm from Alabama also so i was interested in this... as far as i know it seems that in most states red, white, blue, and green(flashing) is illegal...also the bulbs can't be exposed and that sometimes the only way you can have your neons on is if you are parked in a parking lot somewhere showing them off...which defeats the purpose... but i am thinking about getting purple which is not an illegal color because it doesn't resemble any type of emergency vehical...but check your local laws as well because when you are in the city limits you are the city's problem and anything out of their jurisdiction is the state's problem...if you have a close relative that is a cops ask them...because info on the net is limited

It may well depend on the color of the underbody lights. Lights of certain colors (i.e.: red, blue, etc) are not supposed to be displayed so that the restricted color is visible in any way, from the front of the vehicle.

Ok used to be only legal in California now its illegal there too they say it distracts the other drivers i say don't look lol. Anyways its illegal everywhere now. The yellow color however can be used but is risky and you will have to argue with cop if used. yelllow color used by big 18 wheeler trucks so its not an emergancy vehicle color there for it can be used. As of other colors you can have any color on but it can only be on if you are parked, if you are on private road or on back road where speed limit is less then 25mph.

I got blue on my white celica driving around with it on everynight only got pulled over twice and i told him i hit the switch with my knee and got away Now that i work for Law inforcment i know exect law for it.

Yes aslong as its not flashing or strobing colors or lights. Also your fog lights can be a different color, but you can not have different color headlights (example blue, red ,etc).
