Young adults choose to join gangs because when you are poor or in poverty people, get together and help each other. It is kinda like The Outsiders when Ponyboy and Johnny are in a gang called the "Greasers". There are more gang members, but I ain't telling. They are often jumped by the Socs and the Socs were rich kids and picked the poor which are the Greasers. Young adults join gangs because of protection and finding someone who might be closest to you.
The narrator suggests the poor children will either join gangs, become criminals, or become traitors and join the oppressor's army. force their mothers to beg, then they themselves cannot find work

GD's: any age you can be blessed in but you ain't considered a Gangsta until you turn 16
As a matter of fact, they do. Well i disagree with that...they are not major recognized gangs in Cuba however, there are many thugs. Cuba is a very poor country which led the people to do crimes mainly to tourist, to survive the economical issue in the country. Often you see street fights like anywhere else, but never for colors, turf, or drugs. The real gangsters there are the politicians and the government that is the only truth without a doubt!!!
no only wealthy people
