I have used this as a practicing Professional Engineer as part of my documentation which may or may not include my signature. It is used as a legal device for, but not limited to, the following definition:
Without Prejudice - means that the contents of the document, usually signed, cannot be used against the author in a legal proceeding.
Non-assumpsit contract - refers to the fact that all opinions or recommendations, advice and the like are based on the evidence provided or obtained to date, and thus subject to change.
All Rights Reserved - refers to the fact that opinions may be of a confidential or proprietary or otherwise restricted nature, including copyright and intellectual property rights.
