Should I allow my 15 year old daughter to date an 18 year old boy?

As a father, I wouldn't be okay with it. And in most cases, any sexual contact will be illegal and could result in criminal charges.

I must add this, that not only would it be illegal, (in most states, as very few have lowered the age of consent to 15), but if charges were filed by the state for statutory rape then as the father, if you consented and knew of these things going on, you too can be held liable and face jail and perhaps even prison time.

The decision however is yours in the end, if you feel that you can trust your daughter and even this boy and feel that the dating is on an agreed level, then I see no harm in it at all. Would there be any question if it were your 15 year old son wanting to date an 18 year old girl?

I don't think it's a good idea for a 15 year old girl to date a boy of any age. Your emotions are too uncontrolled and your brain is not yet fully developed. Your sense of reason is stunted and you are highly likey to damage yourself emotionally and physically. i dont agree with the above answer as , what if you date 2 yr younger than you. you both have to understand each other, enjoy your life amongst you with keeping all risks in mind. though you are quite young but once getting into your adoloscence, you tend to explore the world around you. moreover if a 15 yr old girl will be behaving childish then the boy who is older will tend to help her correct her life style. thus i feel it is OK I'm having a hard time following what you're saying as your grammer is considerably off which tells me that you need a lot more formal education. What I said was a boy of any age which would cover your question regarding a boy two years younger or older. I think what you're describing above is friendship, which is healthy. There isn't a magic age when a girl or a boy suddenly become mature enough to handle a loving, romantic relationship but at least wait until your brain is developed enough to give you the wisdom you'll need to make good decisions. I know some 30 year old women who don't make the best choices for themselves and their children when it comes to men. I'd advise you to figure out who you are and learn to really like yourself before you involve another human being in your life. Growing up is so hard and confusing and romantic relationships only serve to confuse that process even more. One bad decision can really influence the way you feel about yourself for years to come. Having a boyfriend does not define who you are. You define who you are. Also, please take another English class and learn how to structure sentences and develop your vocabulary. It's really hard for me to piece together what you're trying to say. I think your basic reasoning skills are there (or you wouldn't have asked the question in the first place) and I think you're intelligent but learning how to write will greatly increase your chances of getting your point across in a more precise way. I'm almost 21 so not really in the position to answer this but it caught my interest. I would say definitely no. An 18 year old is much more mature than a 15 year old and can eaislly persuade the younger. 21 and a 24 year old is different. That's just me though.

No way , if she's only 15 she needs someone her own age. Once shes around her 20's she should start dating someone older. Dating an 18 year old boy isn't safe when you're 18 you get all the freedom like to drinking and stuff like that. He might try to convince her to drink. It isn't safe.

i would consider meeting the boy first, you have to consider the 15-year-old's feelings for the 18 year old. if you meet him and you don't think he is good for her then explain why and don't just say it's because he is older actually give a reason why he wouldn't be a good choice. if you don't have a reason then let it alone and let the girl make her own decision's. oh and the person who wrote two answers up, you can't legally drink at 18 you have to be 21.
