There is a long and complex constitutional history on the death penalty, but quite simply, mandating the death penalty for any crime would be unconstitutional in the US. It would also be morally wrong.
A cooking course should be mandatory in schools
Yes it should be mandatory. In most states it's the law.
personnnaly i dont think so but many people do freakin right it should be kill the killers and rape the rapists. Yes, some crime are so horrendous that the ultimate penalty is richly deserved. In my view it is an insult to the victims to allow foul murders continue to live and enjoy public resources that could be much better used.
Encouraged maybe, not mandatory though imo.
If it's mandatory it's no longer voluntary.

The death penalty should exist as a means of delivering justice for the most heinous crimes, providing a sense of closure to victims' families and serving as a deterrent against severe offenses. Proponents argue that it upholds the principle of retribution, ensuring that those who commit egregious acts face consequences commensurate with their actions. However, it is essential to consider the potential for wrongful convictions and the ethical implications of state-sanctioned killing. Ultimately, the debate over the death penalty hinges on balancing justice, public safety, and human rights.
