Should you date someone in jail?

Sure. If you happen to really love someone in prison and can deal with the fact that have to serve time away from you.... then go for it. and just because you are in prison does not mean you are a bad person. people get wrongly convicted all the time. also people make mistakes too.

Absolutely not. Just make sure you know exactly who you are marrying. Make sure you are both strong in your faith. And be prepared to be punished for what he did by others. If you can handle that, then you have to do what is right for you. Make sure you know what you are getting yourself into. Decide what you are willing to sacrifice to be with him. If that person makes you a better you, than its worth it. Also, God has to be a huge part of your connection. It will be a way for you to learn and grow together and stay connected. Yes, you can marry someone who is incarcerated. Different prisons have different rules. My husband is in GreenHaven Correctional Facility and we had to wait one year to get married. After six months of marriage, he put in a request for our "trailer", we had to wait for approval, once approved, you get a house visit (someone comes to your home to see how you live, your lifestyle etc.) from there, you will get a date. Our trailer will be the last week of July 2009 so we waited an entire year before we were given a trailer date, it took a total of two years but we will finally be alone for 2 1/2 days.

I've known several people who have done the jail dating thing. One is dead, two were hospitalized, all previous inmates are now current inmates.
