this varies from state to state . you have 30 days to file a police report for simple injuries. or simple assualts. if you were knocked out for longer and there were no witness to your assailent you may have longer if you were knocked out for over 30 days. but you could not spitefully file a police report on your brother cause of "punch buggy no punch back"
