Import- something brought in from somewhere else export- something taken to be sold/traded somewhere else The general meaning of the word "export" is to "send goods or services to another country for sale". "To import" means "bring goods or services into a country from abroad for sale".
Exporting means sending goods out of the country to sell. Importing means bringing goods into the country to sell.

There may have been monetary costs, but just as often as not tradesman used barter as a means to exchange services for services, goods for services or goods for goods. In other words, they traded.
The term "commodities trading" basically means that things are being traded instead of stocks. The things that are often traded are in goods, like food. Typically, as supply goes down, demand goes up, and so does price.
It means you will be bringing things that people may buy or use to somewhere. So if someone said "Bring goods to Africa" then OBVIOUSLY it means to bring things to Africa. So some of the things could be like Water, or Paper, or Food. I mean it all really depends but.. yeah...
Export means, literally, "to carry out." Usually it means to send goods out of the country, but it has other uses, such as exporting a file from an application on a computer.
Import means to bring in. It is a verb. Ex: The import(ed) goods have arrived.
