I guess most nights Santa sleeps like most people but on Christmas eve he must be awake and working pretty hard. However, if you are of the school of thought that Santa is a cleaver manager of his business, he could also sleep on Christmas eve. If he delegates the responsibility of leaving presents to a lager group of individual spread widely across the world he could sleep quite easily knowing that these people would give gifts to the good children and coal to the bad children. Some people would say that Santa doesn't exist but in fact he has delegated the responsibility of buying presents to the parent.
