The US Supreme Court has ruled that Section 3 of the Defense of Marriage Act ("DOMA") violates the equal protection clause and is unconstitutional. The Court has not yet ruled on whether Section 2 of DOMA violates the full-faith-and-credit clause.
Arguably it is not just that a religious court of any faith should try people, particulary people of a different faith. Even when the person belongs to the same faith as the court, there is no certainty of a fair trial. If an offence is alleged, the person should be tried in a properly constituted secular court.
As did Israel, the new covenant by God with them and all others from all nations, who showed faith in Jesus Christ, became Gods children. Christ freed them that they may become adopted sons, heirs thru God. they are declared righteous by God on basis of their faith. Because they hear the good news and exercise faith, they are called to be joint heirs with God's Son, solely on basis of their faith.
Focus, just use your common sense, and faith in God
Catholics should be evanglistic, this is the very basis of the Christian faith; sadly, many are baptized who never understand their faith, this is something we are all responsible for.
