you can take your written test when you turn 16. if you pass you get your permit and are restricted to driving with someone 21 or older for 6 months. after your 6 months are up you can take your "behind the wheel" test. when you get that your only restriction is being off the road by 11 pm i believe. at age 18 you can drive whenever.
