The Taliban and Al Quaida
Our troop are fighting in Afghanistan to protect our freedom against the numerous terrorist groups taking refuge there. Some of these groups we hear about are in with religious groups like the Taliban, that threaten not only our freedom but the freedom of everyone near them through terrorist attacks. Our society believes that everyone everywhere has a right to live and worship whomever in peace without threats of terror and violence made against them. That is the true reason why our troops fight in Afghanistan is to keep the war from spilling over onto our shores.
Yes. There are some minor Islamist groups in Morocco such as Salafia Jihadia, which was responsible for the 2003 Casablanca Bombings. However, the King of Morocco has devoted assets and police officers to fighting Islamist terror in Morocco, especially since they are political rivals to him. Thankfully, the Polisario Front in Western Sahara has not yet resorted to terrorism.
A terrorist is someone who undertakes a campaign of violence for the purpose of creating a sense of terror in the population at large or in some segment of the population.
It is not the case. In some Muslim countries, the government may be opposed by people for not following democracy or for not responding to people rights in a good life. In some other countries, there may be terrorist groups that are fighting against the government for other personal goals.
There are a number of left-wing terrorist organizations, such as FARC in Colombia, the Japanese Red Army, Shining Path, and Eco-Terrorist Groups.
Some of the terrorist groups operating in Libya include ISIS, Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM), Ansar al-Sharia, and the Benghazi Defense Brigades. These groups have been involved in various attacks and violent activities in the country.
Terror is to 'make" one fear someone or something. Terrorist is one who installs fear in someone or something. Congress, the Teaparty movement, the GOP, some Host on TV , some religious fanatitics, some fascist groups , some who do not support healthcare for all, when over 45,000 die every year, for lack of it,those by voting against it or not supporting it.Those who support WAR over peaceful solutions, for profit or political gain, those are some who could be considered terrorist, they install fear, fear of death, fear for their life. Or there called terrorists because they make terror
Because there are many terrorist groups who go all out to cause terror, religious debates and conflicts within Islam and between other religions as well. Also because some of the nations can become so rich from the oil, and some want to control it all and get power-hungry.
Every member country of the United Nations is making SOME sort of an effort.
Some domestic terrorist groups that flourished during the 1960s and 1970s in the United States include the Weather Underground, the Symbionese Liberation Army, and the Black Liberation Army. These groups carried out bombings, kidnappings, and other violent acts in pursuit of their revolutionary ideals.
Terrorism is a way to tell the government something by use of means of afflicting terror mostly aimed at civilians.
Some were, but the overwhelming majority were not. What makes a rebel a terrorist is when he attacks a civilian population with the intent that such an attack will cause a government to accede to his demands. A non-terrorist rebel typically attacks soldiers of the government he opposes. In the case of the French Revolution, the rebels opposed the French military, which would put them into the non-terrorist category. What makes a government a terrorist is when it brutally attacks or represses its own citizens. After attaining power, the rebels established a new French Republican Government with a "Committee for Public Safety". This committee, chaired by Robespierre was responsible for the Reign of Terror in which numerous French civilians were guillotined for minor offenses if any. This was an act of terror, and individuals like Robespierre may well be seen as terrorists.
