What are the disadvantages of salat?

There is a sense of inequality in Salat to many people, particularly women. They are not required to attend mosques to pray, so believe this is not the most important pillar. People tire of the endless routine, either not participating to the best of their ability or neglecting it. Collective worship is said to have merit with Allah, excluding those who might prefer to do it individually. Some people have a disability or are paralysed so cannot prostrate. Thank you!
