What are the procedures for a runaway leaving the state?

you shld never leave a state without an adult. i know things can get hard at home some times believe me, i know. you should try talking to someone. get it out because if you keep it in, one day you will explode at the wrong place at the wrong time. try to hang in there

its not against the law to run away at the age of 16 and 17,its all so common.but their is a few thing's you need to know.before you decide to run away to another state,be sure you know what your doing,and know someone to run to you know you can trust.its beats being on the streets in a strange town,in another state.when you run away from the state you live in,keep this in mind.the state you live in most likely will not come after you.

in order for anyone to come after you,they have to have proof of where you may be and proof of who you may be with,and what you was wearing last when you disappeared.without this proof law enforcement and the state itself can not do anything.they will keep on the look out in their area and in the state,and if found/spotted in the state you live in,you will be picked up and brought back.

if you are a abused teen weather its verbal or physical,and you run to another state,where the leagal age of being an adult is 16,again you best know someone in that state that you can go to,that you can trust and help you.what I mean by help is you need to notified an attroney,lawer,or some offical in the state you ran to and ask for help.but also have them reassured you that nothing will be said of you being in that state,and who you are staying with who is protecting you,and asking for help.some states have a protection law for young adults like yourself against another state.

you may also ask for an emergency emancipation,which means you can become a legal adult at 16,if there is enough proof to back your story.parents/parent may not be notified of such action,if your proof of abuse holds water.if not parents/parent will be notified.but once you become an adult you can be treated as such.but always keep this in mind,not all of the states have the same laws.unless you done your research before you ran away..............wrote by a retired attorney after 48 years.
