What can be done to reduce crime in Richmond CA?

Before I answer that Question, We have to understand the reason for Crime because unless we understand the reason for that, we can not solve the problem efficiently. Crime happenes due to many reasons; land, women, neighborhood instability and money are biggest. * I think, in today's economy it is "money". Population is growing, jobs are not. * Drugs, unemloyement, population they all are related with lack of money. So now: the things we can do to improve this situation is: * After school productive activities, something that is interesting for kids, uses their interest, and also gives them a hope of life and career. After school sports club are a good way to divert the energy of teen and preteen generation. It can be indoor or out door helped by city or school. * Educating parents is another way of helping kids. Teach parents the value of education. Encourage them to send (force) kids to school. Make school attendance a must. Instead of punishing the students make them do community work like cleaning the streets and community property etc. * Encourge residences to give up fire arms with the motive of prizes or something. * Be more vigilant regarding drugs and get it before it reaches kids. * Teachers need to be stricter in educating about drugs and sex in school. * Clean environment means clean minds, behavior and happiness. The clue to our problem is in Education, Diversion(from crime) and Unity (EDU). Thankyou for letting me give you my two cents.
