Voodoo ( vodoun ) is mainly practiced in the Caribbean country of Haiti. It is a syncretic religion composed of African and Christian deities and symbolism. Similair systems occur in Latin America like Santeria in Cuba and Candomble in Brazil.

Haiti is one Caribbean nation that still practices voodoo. Many racist and exoticist folk models can be found about this practiced religion viewed as 'Black Magic' when that is in itself a negatively viewed practice within the religion. For most houngans or voodoo priests do not use this practice to send evil but rather to find the source of any misfortune or illness brought to a customer and to send the evil out.

Voodoo originated in Haiti, it has a strong base in New Orleans, Louisiana. But as above stated it can be practiced by anyone, anywhere.
