There are several different ways that the two are different. I am positive that i will not get all of the different ways they are different, but i will mention a few.

We have a bicameral legislative branch meaning that it is broken up into two different parts- congress and the senate- as opposed to England's unicameral system- parliament.

In England, the Head of State and Head of Government are different individuals- the prime minister? and the the current queen. The United States is different in that we have created an impossible job in the presidency by combining both of these jobs into one.

In the United States we have what we like to call a separation of powers. We like to think that this keeps government in check through a system of checks and balances and blah blah blah. England on the other hand has what they like to call a concentration of powers. I'm sure you get the difference.

There are many different ways and I'm sure i could go on and on about it, but to be honest i don't really want to as much as i thought that i would.
