Vandalism has nothing to do with a hit n run claim. First the insurance company will cover it under uninsured/underinsured motorist or collision coverage. To say it won't count against you is not a correct statement either. Insurance companies are starting to classify hit n' run or hit while parked claims as partially uninsured motorist and partially collision so they pay out under both coverages. This causes alot of issues if you are shopping your insurance because most insurance companies are going to access a surcharge for an At Fault accident because of the collision payout. It is very difficult to prove a collision payout is not at fault as collision is automatically classified as an at fault loss.
