In some states it is the Clerk of the Court that does the swearing-in, and in still others the judge themself handles the job. Additional: This oath will not be the same in all jurisdictions. In some, the reference to "God" has been omitted due to the fact that it has been successfully argued that Atheists and other non-believers, can claim that they did not perjure themselves due to the fact that they recognize no oath invoking the name of deity in which they do not believe.

In one state court circuit (at least the one I am most familiar with) the oath is: "Do you solemnly swear, or affirm, that the testimony you are about to give shall be the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth?"
