The congress can't take away the right to a trial because it is written as an Amendment in the Constitution. If they tried to take that right away that would be completely unconstitutional.

Yes, but to a certain extent. When people take advantage of symbolic speech, the First Amendment does not protect symbolic speech. They can consider symbolic speech as a right to say whatever they want, which can violate people's safety and protection, as well as policies. But having the right to speak freely about your opinion and convictions is a privilege and will be taken away if you take advantage of it.
Politicians want to take aways our right to the 2nd amendment. The thing is, if they do that they take away guns from law abiding citizens and leave the criminals armed. So to keep it simple they are wanting to take our 2nd amendment right away from us. So my advice is vote wisely.
People felt that their homes were not safe and that government could barge through their door at any time and that government could just take away their possessions. It protected people against unreasonable searches and seizures.
