Shotguns are perfectly legal so long as they don't have a high ammo capacity. Most rifles are OK providing they don't have a magazine with the exception of bolt action rifles, So an M14 for instance would be illegal but a Lee Enfield SMLE would be legal. Not long ago I fired a Chinese version of the AK47 however they would be specially modified so the Q still stands. All obsolete calibre weapons such as the Martini Henry rifle are perfectly legal. Hand gun wise all made before 1916 I believe it is are legal including all target pistols, but generally their illegal.
