Approximately 640,000 of these little bolt action .22's were made between 1902 and 1931. Like many inexpensive .22's, they were not serial-numbered, so there is no way to know precisely what year yours was made. They had a gumwood stock and no buttplate, and sold for $6. If yours is in good condition, its value would be in the $200 to $300 range.

are sure it's not 1899 instead of 1809? I just held one of these rifles today and would like some information myself. the one I held had the patent date of August 29, 1899
The Winchester Model 58 Mfg by Winchester Repeating Arms Co. were not numbered. There were about 39,963 manufactured. Manufactured between 1928 and 1934
My information suggests that you have a Winchester model 101 which was chambered in either 28 gauge or 410 gauge,which was made in August of 1970.

Mine was made in 1909. On the left side of the barrel, between the sight and the strap, it is stamped "Manufactured by the Winchester Repeating Arms Co." Then below that it says "New Haven Conn. U.S.A. Patented August 21. 1894." Back between the sight and the receiver, on the left side it is stamped "32-40" That is the caliber. Nothing else is on the barrel. Hope this helps you.
