in fair/usable condition, between 175 and 250
I can tell you that with the Western Field name, it's not a Browning product. This was a trade name used by Montgomery Ward. It may be marked with a Browning patent, but was probably made by Stevens/Savage.
Western Field Archery Bows, sold by Montgomery Ward, were primarily manufactured by the company Browning. Browning produced these bows under the Western Field brand name, which Montgomery Ward used for its sporting goods line. The collaboration allowed Montgomery Ward to offer quality archery equipment at competitive prices.
1930's.
To locate a manual for your shotgun, you must provide the model number for your shotgun first. All shotguns made for Montgomery Wards(Western Field) were made by other firearms manufactures for Montgomery Wards to include Savage,Stevens,Mossberg,Noble and more.
I would have to assume that you have a semi-auto shotgun. If your shotgun has a slight hump to the back of the reciever then it was a shotgun made with a browning patent and would have to be listed on the gun along with the royaltys paid to his patent.
Montgomery Ward & Co. was founded in 1872, and the Western Field brand was used for various firearms sold by the company, particularly during the mid-20th century. The Western Field 16-gauge pump shotgun often features Browning patents, indicating a design or manufacturing connection to Browning firearms. Depending on the specific model and production date, a Western Field 16 ga pump shotgun could date back to the 1930s or later, making it at least several decades old. For an exact age, you would need to check the specific serial number and model information.

I just inherited a Western Field 12 guage that belonged to my uncle. The number on the bottom of the gun 25613b. According to my father, my uncle used it to duck hunt as a kid back in the '20s, and they bought it from Sears. Hope that this helps. Western Field was a Montgomery Ward brand name. That number doesn't indicate the model number so I can't cross reference it to the manufacturer but I see no Browning guns in the list. If you want to establish the value of a store-brand gun, go to Walmart and find the least expensive gun most like yours. Figure your used gun is worth 1/2 to 3/4 as much, depending on its condition. If it will help anyone, I just recived a "Western Field Browning" , that exact wording on the gun w/ Montgomery Ward and Company, Model 30, Browning Patent 20 gauge.
