Individual Rights - Individual rights in the United States are generally defined as life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. The pursuit of happiness is somewhat broad so it is sometimes narrowed down to simply property, and the right to do with it as you will (it is argued quite a bit that people should be able to do whatever they want with their land, because of this, but if there are restrictions on what you can do with your land they should be determined before purchasing the land and, therefore, the individual agreed with those terms).

Liberty is often defined as freedom to do what is morally right, so you might have liberty, but that doesn't mean you may go steal something.
