What is international law?

Rather than regulating the relations and interaction between private individuals, International Law establishes the rules under which nations, countries and in some cases organizations relate and interact with each other. The nations, countries and (exceptionally) organizations are therefore considered subjects of International Law.

In general, International Law refers to Public International Law. Private International Law which relates to the exceptional application of national laws from more than one national jurisdiction or country to individuals or organizations under special circumstances is a field of law that must not be confused with conventional International Law.

At the Geneva Convention between 1929 and 1932, the international community (world - 214 countries) was bankrupted. The problem simply was the factor of countries plundering each other for the gold that backed the money. This plunder was causing world wars of which the second one could not be prevented as National Socialism in Europe was being promoted at the time. Remember, that era did not have the computer and fast telecommunications we have today. Thus, the Geneva Convention was attempting to thwart WWII, but did not. Still, wars are for economic demolition and not for country dominance. Since bankruptcy was declared then, a rule book was necessary and the old merchant law was changed to the "Uniform Commercial code (UCc)". This code has had an ambivalent effect for some believe it is negative and others say it is positive. This writer believes the latter as I am Ph.D. in common Law. The UCc in present international law and court systems in the world abide by it. All judges and lawyers are a part of the "Lawyers Guild of England" with titles of squire and esquire respectively since feudalism of the middle ages. However, the system is not controlled by England, but rather the United Nations is the only government on earth. The rest of the other country governments are suspended under bankruptcy.
