Genocide is a term used to describe mass killing of people. There to this day is no evidence that genocide was committed by the Yugoslav military (comprised mainly of Serbian soldiers at the time) nor any Serbian forces.
There were many horrific murders of innocent people but genocide by either side was not committed.
There is no policy except to try and live in peace.
They performed genocide but it was known in the press as ethnic cleansing. Genocide is correct..............
Bosnia
The Bosnian genocide took place in Bosnia.
The genocide in Srebrenica happened in 1995.
The international community, led by NATO, intervened militarily in Bosnia to protect the Bosniak minority (Bosnian Muslims) from Bosnian Serb genocide. The international community made no concrete actions to end the Rwandan genocide and the genocide only ended when a rebel army overthrew the government.
NATO countries intervened in Bosnia to reach a peace agreement, but the global community failed to respond to genocide in Rwanda.
There is disagreement among lawyers as to which 'parts' of the killings in Bosnia were genocide. There is agreement that the Srebrenica Massacre (about 8,400 killed) was an act of genocide. Beyond that there is disagreement, however.
It's genocide. Bosnia and Rwanda are recent examples.
In the Bosnian genocide, the primary aggressors were Bosnian Serb forces, including the Army of Republika Srpska and paramilitary groups, who targeted Bosniak Muslims and Bosnian Croats. The victims were predominantly Bosniak Muslims, as well as Croats, who suffered atrocities including mass killings, sexual violence, and forced displacement. The genocide was characterized by systematic efforts to eliminate these ethnic groups from specific territories in Bosnia and Herzegovina during the Bosnian War from 1992 to 1995.
it started in 1992
The war in Bosnia left around 400,000 people dead.
