It's not, exactly. A lot of people in America haven't been raised well enough to be young men and young women at an early age. Hence, they don't have the "wits" (that's a rough word to explain it) to hold a marriage. This goes for most first world countries where scientific and medical "facts" are over-exaggerated; making the youth to seem younger than it's really actually capable of being. That's why often you'll see young marriages in other countries; most "third world". Such as Kyrgyzstan or Afghanistan, but also in other places like Albania and the Serbian Country-side. You may also find such traditions of marrying young in some parts of Russia, such as Siberia or the Ural mountains, where modern ways haven't had a large impact. It's fact that since the dawn of man people married young. it's Recorded in The Bible and Qu'aran, and also in several secular-records of historical artifacts. People back then felt love at a young age and in a cut-throat world like that, people grew up fast; naturally, to survive. They found wives and had children. Some people married at 30, sometimes 20, and sometimes 13. In some parts of the world, there was forced marriage, where peoples spouses were chosen before they even grew up, and sometimes married as young as 9 or 10.
