It's not, exactly. A lot of people in America haven't been raised well enough to be young men and young women at an early age. Hence, they don't have the "wits" (that's a rough word to explain it) to hold a marriage. This goes for most first world countries where scientific and medical "facts" are over-exaggerated; making the youth to seem younger than it's really actually capable of being. That's why often you'll see young marriages in other countries; most "third world". Such as Kyrgyzstan or Afghanistan, but also in other places like Albania and the Serbian Country-side. You may also find such traditions of marrying young in some parts of Russia, such as Siberia or the Ural mountains, where modern ways haven't had a large impact. It's fact that since the dawn of man people married young. it's Recorded in The Bible and Qu'aran, and also in several secular-records of historical artifacts. People back then felt love at a young age and in a cut-throat world like that, people grew up fast; naturally, to survive. They found wives and had children. Some people married at 30, sometimes 20, and sometimes 13. In some parts of the world, there was forced marriage, where peoples spouses were chosen before they even grew up, and sometimes married as young as 9 or 10. If anything, THIS should be considered wrong. Take the bible for example. Recorded in the records of the Kings of Israel and Judea: Father: King Josiah. Died: Age 39 Son: King Jehoahaz. Began Reign: Age 23 39 - 23 = 16 Conclusion - King Josiah was married before he had his child at the age of 16 (Josiah - 2 Kings 22-23, 2 Chronicles 34-35 and 1 Esdras 1. | Jehoahaz - 2 Kings 23:31; 2 Chronicles 36:1-4) Or this: Father: King Ahaz. Died: Age 36 Son: Hezekiah. Began Reign: Age 25 36 - 25 = 11 Conclusion - King Ahaz was married before he had his child at the age of 11 (Ahaz - 2 Kings 16; Isaiah 7-9; and 2 Chronicles 28. | Hezekiah - 2 Chronicles 29:1, 2 Kings 18:2, 2 Kings 18-20, Isaiah 36-39, and 2 Chronicles 29-32) So, it isn't WRONG to marry someone young. It takes the maturity of a Young Man or Woman, that of an Adult. To love the person you're marrying, and to understand the entire situation of marrying that person. Unfortunately, so many people these days, regardless of age, don't take the time to review and reflect on their lives, and to take a serious look into the situation they face, and to make an Adult-Like choice on marriage. This is why we have such a high divorce rate in America.
