It is 65mph most of the way but once you get up into towns such as Lone Pine, Big Pine, Independence, etc the speed limit will drop to 35-45mph thru the towns. Lots of speed traps north of Lone Pine and especially closer to Bishop. Keep it below 75mph in the 65mph zones and you should be fine. 80+ will get you pulled over every time
