Well, it depends mostly on line of sight, so if there's a ton of crap in between you and the monitor, it won't let you go so far. For example I live in the basement of a walkout, and I can go all the way out in the front yard because my monitor is in the basement near a window, but I can't make it to the garage in the back of the house because there's a foundation wall and like 5 feet of dirt for the signal to penetrate. I'd say you could probably be 50 ft away if there's clear line of sight. Maybe more depending on your equipment.
To be sure of your range and allow yourself maximum movement: open your house's window's so you can hear the phone WHEN they call (they will) and then just do random stuff outside at ever increasing distances. Keep rough track of what time it is when you're outside, and do things in increments.
When they call and tell you you were out of range ask what time you were "out", and then give a good excuse (I just got the mail!?!) so you don't get in trouble, and then where ever you were at the mentioned time is not your limit, it's BEYOND your limit.
The distance you can go before triggering a house arrest monitor varies depending on the specific terms set by the court and the type of monitoring device used. Generally, most house arrest monitors have a range of about 50 to 150 feet from the base station installed in your home. Exceeding this range typically activates the device, notifying authorities of a breach. Always check the specific conditions of your house arrest to avoid violations.

An ankle bracelet is a piece of jewellery worn around the ankle, or an ankle monitor, a device for placing individuals under house arrest.
Ankle bracelets or monitors are used to ensure that someone under house arrest remains within a certain range of the house. A signal is sent from the bracelet to a receiver that identifies the location of the person wearing it.
