Gang members typically wear their bandanas in their back pockets, with the color and placement often signifying allegiance to a specific gang or territory. The left pocket usually indicates membership in a gang that identifies with that side, while the right pocket may signify a rival gang. This practice serves as a visual marker of identity and can also communicate messages to others in the community.

The only differences between the Bloods & the Crips are, the Bloods wear red & the Crips wear blue. The Bloods gang is a gang under the Blood Alliance & the Crips gang is a gang under the Crip Alliance. The Bloods wear their bandana to the right, the Crips wear their bandana to the left. As far as their cause, they both pretty much have the same cause as any other gang, to do whatever they feel is necessary to earn money, power and respect.
The Crips gang wearing their bandana to the left dates back to the 60's, when the Crips were getting started. There was a Crip named Curtis Morrow aka Buddha who used to walk around wearing a blue bandana on the back side of his left pocket, he wore it for fashion. When Buddha died the Crips carried on the tradition and now that's why they wear blue bandanas to the left, in honor of Buddha.
