The Federalist Papers were newspaper articles written to persuade colonial Americans to ratify the Constitution. What important role do they play today?
The documents reveal the Founders' political philosophy through concepts like limited government, natural rights, and the social contract. The New Hampshire Constitution reflects John Locke's philosophy by emphasizing the protection of individual rights, separation of powers, and consent of the governed, all of which were central to Locke's ideas on political theory.
A liberal constitution refers to a constitution that favors the political philosophy of progress and reform of its citizens. One of the features of a liberal constitution is that the rights of an individual which is enshrined in law is guaranteed.
Political science IS a philosophy. It is the study of how people form politics and policies.
see U.S. Constitution
Every country that has any sort of a system of government has a political philosophy. There are about as many political philosophies as there are governments. The United States, for example, is a constitutional republic with a philosophy of a government with enumerated powers delegated by the people in the form of a constitution that defines and limits the powers of government. The people elect a congress to represent them in the writing of laws and a president to carry out those laws that congress instructs him/her to carry out (unless he/she does not agree to carry them out in the form of a veto). The president appoints justices, with the consent of the senate, to interpret the extent and nature of those laws in light of the constitution. All three branches are separate and equal. There are different types of subgroups of political philosophy within that type. Again, the United States is only one type of political philosophy. Every country/tribe/clan has a political philosophy, and most of them are tied to the history and culture of the people.
