A CDL license is required to drive a skid loader. Many employers will require a CDL to get positions that require the operation of a skid loader.
A Class B CDL is required to operate a single vehicle (no trailer) commercially if it has a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating in excess of 26,000 lbs. An airbrake endorsement for airbrake-equipped vehicles is required if a CDL is required. A vehicle with a GVWR of 25,500 lbs. and not operated while exceeding 26,000 lbs. requires no CDL.
