The best thing a community can do when any one who is labeled a sex offender and move in is to get educated on that person and get to know them and hear there side of the story as well as find out what they are doing now if necessary to prevent them from reoffending. I say this as ruffly 90 to 93 percent of those who have to register as a sex offender are of no danger to any one any more or never where a danger from the beginning. These is many crimes all across the country that can get the average person placed on these registries that other than the morality about the issue was any one molested raped or even a victim. When you find out this information find out what they where convicted of and if you can find out what the original charge was as well as many people are offered a plea deal to a lesser crime. Then find out what the laws are for the crime don't go just by the title of the specific law as they do not always use the right words for example statutory rape or rape in the 3rd are the same crime which is consensual sex between someone who is over the legal age of consent and someone who is under the legal age of consent.

dont judge that person yet after that make it a point to talk civilly with them see if they want to share their story with you and your neighbors. If the did do a pretty bad crime then find out if they are in treatment or not what are they doing to prevent them selves from repeating again and so forth. You will be amazed the majority will work with you and even if they are still a semi danger don't out cast them help them make sure to keep them from getting into a situation that can allow them to reoffend. Remember not all sex offender are dangerous and just like the majority of those who have committed other crimes after they have served heir time they want to get their life back and move on and become a part of the community and society again. So dont play into what the media and politicians have brainwashed so many with be proactive not reactive when a RSO moves in your area who knows you may find out they are the world best neighbor to a new best friend.
